The family of Sanpha Koroma has announced his sudden death. Koroma, the owner of Union Trust Bank, a major Sierra Leonean bank, passed away in the early hours of Sunday.
A distinguished figure in Sierra Leone’s financial and political landscape, Sanpha Koroma previously served as Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone under former President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah. He also held roles as Economic Adviser and Secretary to former President Ernest Bai Koroma. Additionally, Koroma was the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sierra Leone and a significant shareholder in the Rokel Commercial Bank.
