The outgoing US Ambassador to Sierra Leone, David Reimer, has shared a heartfelt farewell message with the people of Sierra Leone. The US embassy posted a one-minute thirty-eight-second video on their official Facebook and Twitter pages, in which Reimer expressed his gratitude to the people of Sierra Leone for their warm hospitality and kindness during his two-and-a-half years as the US Ambassador.
He described it as a great privilege to act as a link between the United States and Sierra Leone and expressed how deeply the country’s rich culture and history had impacted him. Reimer also highlighted the accomplishments in healthcare and investment promotion in Sierra Leone.
Despite the inevitable challenges faced, he emphasized the enduring partnerships and his affection for Sierra Leone and its people. Reimer expressed his optimism for the nation’s success and hoped that his successor, Brian Hunt, would be an exceptional representative of the US Government. It is worth noting that the incoming US Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Brian Hunt, has already made a courtesy visit to the Sierra Leone Embassy in Washington D.C.
