Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, has revealed that Qatar Airways will soon commence its inaugural flight operations in Liberia.
Renowned for its extensive network serving nearly 170 destinations worldwide, Qatar Airways’ entry will enhance Liberia’s connectivity through Hamad International Airport in Doha. The airline has garnered numerous Airline of the Year awards and has maintained a prestigious Skytrax five-star ranking since 2004.
Minister Nyanti emphasized that further discussions between the two governments are underway to finalize the agreement. This development is poised to boost Liberia’s economy by expanding tourism, trade, and investment prospects and strengthening diplomatic relations with Qatar. The Minister announced this on May 12 during a press conference at The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism.
Minister Nyanti shared that the initiative for Qatar Airways’ entry into Liberia materialized during her participation at the Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul, where she had a productive meeting with the Qatari Minister of Transport.
Qatar Airways will join other airlines such as Brussels Airlines, Kenya Airways, and Royal Air Maroc in operating flights out of Monrovia International Airport.
