Popular Gambian Social Media Content creator Isatou Jallow, widely recognized as Isha Milky, graciously dedicated her recent awards to all those who have contributed to her career. Isha was one of the distinguished honorees at the 2nd edition of the West African Social Media Awards hosted at The Motherland venue in The Gambia on December 12, 2025.
In a heartfelt moment on stage while accepting the accolades, the renowned Tik Toker and musician expressed her deep appreciation for the recognition by WASMA, emphasizing, “Thank you so much, I am deeply honored to be here tonight and this award is for everybody that believe in me and supported my journey.”
Meet Isha Milky: A Journey of Passion, Resilience, and Musical Success
Her name is Isatou Jallow, but she’s widely celebrated as Isha Milky. Born on May 3, 2000, in Jarra Soma, a rural town in Gambia, she moved to Guinea with her family before returning to her homeland in 2007. Starting her education in Jarra Soma from 2007 to 2016, she discovered an undeniable passion for music. At 13, she recorded her first single featuring her brother Kepsize.
Despite challenges, she completed senior secondary education at SOS Hermann Gmeiner Senior Secondary School in 2019. She pursued Computer Studies, leading to a job at MRC Holland Foundation. Her role involved distributing learning materials across The Gambia, providing her with invaluable experiences.
Her boss sponsored her Business Management studies, leading to a dual role managing The Contractor Association. Her TikTok presence grew, showcasing her singing talents and gaining admiration. In 2023, El Maestro Le Kangham reached out, sparking a collaboration. She recorded three hit songs in Senegal and expanded her network.
Isha credits El Maestro’s selfless support for her musical success.
