Renowned Ghanaian motorbike adventurer, Saviour Daitey, also known as Flying Flags, sets out on an incredible journey from Accra to Banjul, The Gambia, for the upcoming West Africa Social Media Awards (WASMA). Saviour, along with other esteemed personalities, will be honoured for their positive impact on social media.
Covering a distance of 2,375 km, Saviour will traverse through Burkina Faso and Mali before reaching Senegal and eventually The Gambia. Along the way, he plans to spread positive Pan-African messages and showcase the beauty of Africa on his social media platforms.
In a video announcement before his departure on Monday, Saviour emphasized the importance of unity in Africa and urged fellow Africans to work together towards a brighter future. With a mission to promote love, service, and unity in Africa, Saviour aims to inspire his audience to make Africa a better place for all its inhabitants.
The prestigious West Africa Social Media Awards 2025 will be hosted in The Gambia on December 12th, 2025, with notable figures, including the Gambian First Lady, the Police Chief, and the Mayor of Banjul, expected to attend. International guests, such as Jayesh, the Country Manager of AMIN Electricals/ICONA Sierra Leone, will also be part of the star-studded event.
Originally rooted in Sierra Leone as the Salone Social Media Awards, the WASMA Awards have evolved to celebrate individuals and institutions driving positive change through social media, with successful editions held both in Sierra Leone and the Netherlands.
