A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday in Gofo, located 6 miles from Zimmi, a border town between Sierra Leone and Liberia. According to reports, three individuals lost their lives in a V8 vehicle. Witnesses stated that a black Toyota Landcruiser V8 was speeding from the Liberia border when it collided with a six-wheel commercial truck preparing to turn a corner. The impact caused the V8 to be torn apart by the truck before hitting a signpost. The driver, who had dropped off his boss in Gendema at the border of Liberia and Sierra Leone, was returning to Freetown and had picked up some passengers along the way.

Although details are limited, a Sierra Leone Police officer at the Zimmi checkpoint confirmed that the deceased victims were taken to the Pujehun mortuary. Recent reports indicate a rise in fatal accidents along the road leading to the Liberian border. Sierra Leone Police spokesperson ASP Brima Kamara mentioned that he is currently not informed about the accident, as of the latest update.
