Sierra Leone has been nominated as one of the most desirable emerging destinations for travel by Wanderlust, the United Kingdom’s largest and longest-running travel magazine. This comes after the country’s Freetown Peninsula was recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the world’s greatest places for 2023.
Described as “Africa’s new coastal hub,” Sierra Leone has been garnering international attention for its tourism potential and is included in the top 50 destinations to visit globally. Alongside countries such as Rwanda, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Malawi, Sierra Leone is in the running for the most Desirable Emerging destination award.

I am a sierra leonian living in the US. I am just a little surprised that this news is just getting global attention. With my experience traveling the world, without a question, I have always been strongly convinced that Sierra Leon is a paradise on earth in many ways.
