All People’s Congress (APC) has called for a complete rerun of the June 24 multi-tier elections.
According to the APC, the announcement of the presidential election results is fraudulent and represents the greatest threat to democracy, unity, and survival.
In a press release dated 30th June, the APC has catalogued the incessant victimization their leadership and supporters have endured in the last five years and the attempt being made by the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) to plunge the nation into an authoritarian regime.
This press release outlines the APC’s position regarding the actions of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL). The party demanded the resignation of ECSL Chief Electoral Commissioner Mohamed Konneh and rerun of the elections by an independent body within six months.
In addition, the APC has declared their non-participation in all levels of government. They have urged development partners to impose travel bans on Julius Maada Bio, Fatima Bio, and a host of government ministers.
